Commercial Tree Service in Tampa, FL

Commercial · Tampa, FL

Tree work planned around your residents and customers

Commercial tree service from A Sharper Image Tree Services covers the trees on the property you manage or own. We work for HOAs, property managers, apartment and condo communities, office parks, retail centers, churches and schools. Most calls start with a problem everyone on the property can see. The oaks hang low over the parking lot, or the palms drop fronds on the pool deck.

We are a tree service company based in Tampa with a second shop in Homosassa. We handle scheduled tree trimming, palm trimming, removals, stump grinding and storm cleanup across the whole property. We work the corridor from Tampa north to Crystal River: Hillsborough, Pasco, Hernando and Citrus counties. Call or text (813) 293-2948 for a free estimate, written up for your board or owner.

What our commercial tree service covers

The steady work on a commercial property is tree trimming on a schedule. We lift the canopy over sidewalks and parking rows so people and delivery trucks pass under. We cut limbs back from roofs and parking lot lights and take out the deadwood.

Palms need different work than oaks. We take off dead fronds and seed pods and leave the green fronds above the horizontal, as UF/IFAS advises. Cutting off the flower stalks keeps messy fruit from dropping on pool decks and walks.

When a tree is dead or crowding a building, we handle the tree removal and grind the stump. Our crane and our tracked lift reach big trees over roofs and courtyards. Our compact loaders fit through a gate when a truck cannot get close.

What does the tree code ask of a commercial property in Tampa?

Inside Tampa city limits, removing a tree 5 inches DBH or larger needs a city permit, invasive species aside. DBH is the trunk diameter measured 4.5 feet above the ground. The city's tree pages say trimming a tree 24 inches DBH or larger needs a permit first. The city's Natural Resources office reviews those permits.

State law, s. 163.045 F.S., lets a homeowner remove a tree documented as an unacceptable risk without a local permit. That law covers single-family detached homes only. Tampa's guidance puts commercial property and multi-family buildings, townhomes included, outside that exemption. The city or county office can confirm which rules fit your property.

In unincorporated Hillsborough County, trees over 5 inches DBH on non-residential property need a removal permit. In condo and townhome common areas, the county's residential guide requires a permit at 5 inches DBH and larger. The county caps trimming at 25 percent of a tree's canopy in a growing season. We can walk you through the permit page for your property, and the permit is sorted out before work starts.

Storm cleanup and hurricane season on a commercial property

Hurricane season runs June 1 to November 30. Before it starts, we take the deadwood out of big oaks and thin crowns that hang over roofs. After Hurricane Andrew, UF/IFAS researchers found 73 percent of pruned broadleaf trees survived, against 47 percent of unpruned ones. Storm season fills the schedule fast, so book that trimming early.

After a storm, call or text for emergency tree service and we tell you when a crew can be there. We make the property safe first: hanging limbs over walkways and trees down on buildings or cars. We document the damage before we cut.

Downed power lines are the utility's job first, so call them before anyone goes near the tree. Once the hazards are handled, we finish the removals and haul the wood off the property.

FAQ

Commercial Questions, Answered

Common questions about commercial around Tampa and north to Crystal River. If yours is not here, call or text and ask.

Call (813) 293-2948

Do you give written estimates our board can review?
Yes. We look over the trees with the manager or a board member, then put the estimate in writing. The written estimate lays out the work, so the board can approve all of it or take it in stages.
How do you work around residents and customers?
We plan the day with the property manager before the crew arrives. The area under the work gets closed off while limbs come down, then it opens again. We can split big jobs into sections so part of the lot stays open. We clean up the lot and the walks before we leave.
Can one tree service company cover properties in several counties?
Yes, if the properties sit between Tampa and Crystal River. We work Hillsborough, Pasco, Hernando and Citrus counties from two shops, South Tampa and Homosassa. Each property gets its own written estimate.
How much does commercial tree service cost?
The price depends on the number of trees and their size. What they hang over matters too, because work over roofs and parked cars takes more rigging. Access counts, and so does whether the job needs our crane or our tracked lift. Call or text (813) 293-2948 for a free estimate in writing.
Can you clear a lot for a commercial build?
Yes. Our land clearing crew takes the trees and brush down and grinds or pulls the stumps. The debris is chipped or hauled, and fill and drainage stay with the builder. In unincorporated Hillsborough County, a commercial site needs a natural resource permit before clearing starts.
Can you trim trees growing into our power lines?
Trees growing into overhead power lines are the utility's job. In Tampa, Tampa Electric's line clearance office takes those requests. Elsewhere, call the electric utility that serves the property. We handle the rest of the trees.
